SCA CSP Brewing Foundation Level
This Specialty Coffee Association course, Brewing Foundation Level is designed to introduce core brewing skills and equipment to people with no previous brewing experience. Successful candidates should be able to grind and brew to the correct recipe to produce great coffee. Introduction to Coffee is a recommended pre-requisite but not mandatory.
We will go thru exercises to:
- *Give a brief introduction to coffee
- *Learn Brewing Guidelines including strength and extraction, ratios, grind size, brew time, water temperature, turbulence, water quality, filter methods, pressure, storage, cleaning and hot holding.
- *Brewing Methods and Equipment
We begin at 9am, Lunch will be included (Vegan option available)
This is part of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Coffee Skills Program (CSP). Written and Practical exams are provided and upon passing will earn 5 points towards CSP Diploma.
